Interesting articles and links as they relate to homeschooling
In the Science and Medicine section.of the Los Angeles Times, Denise Gellene wrote an interesting article on November 13, 2007
Hyperactive Children catch up with peers

Here is an article that discusses research on the brain of kids with ADHD and how the cortex develops later.

Besides Dr. Raymond Moore's stance 20 years ago, here is another argument against young kids going to school and the belief that to start behind or late, kids will stay behind.
I love this little article because it begins to question the absurd belief that kids can "fall behind" and that once behind, they have a very difficult time "catching up"

……..snip……
"A high school that has been recognized by another state and accredited by non-Ohio entities need not also have been approved by the state of Ohio in order to be a 'recognized and accredited high school,' " wrote Justice Terrence O'Donnell.

The law reads "any recognized and accredited high school" but does not define recognized or accredited or what is meant by "any," he said.

“Does Homeschooling Have to be Political?”

I think Annette does a fabulous job on her blog tying in different sources on this idea of homeschooling.
Take a look, it's a big site, with lots of other links to check out.

I firmly believe in individuals coming together to help one another. Local support groups would not, could not exist without the dedication of individuals. Please join and volunteer with your local group. I am reminded of a 1995 Home Education Magazine article by Earl Gray Stevens on Non Directed Support Groups. He said, "This approach requires a lot of respect for the authority of individuals to make their own decisions. Most of us have been well-schooled to look for authority from above and it can be hard work to begin looking within."
